Harvest of Peace

On Saturday September 19, we held a Harvest of Peace gathering for the Toronto Shambala sangha. There was considerable hesitation about having a live, in-person event; but in the end we decided we wanted to provide an opportunity for friends to get together and enjoy the nurturing of community, while at the same time making sure to follow strict Covid-19 policies.

We expected between five and ten people to show up, but including six cheerful children, we had a group of 21 (which was below the regulation limit of 25).

We began the festivities with the traditional lhasang ceremony, followed by some time for people to partake of sustenance. The lhasang was also live streamed and several participated online from home.

After the ceremony, one group had a Tai Chi session in the grass, while others relaxed to chat and catch up. It had been a while since we had seen each other, and it was a delightfully warm event.
