Hearing the Heart’s Song: A Jewish Devotional Practice
Join prayer leader and musician Aviva Chernick in a morning practice of gratitude in song and silence. Aviva weaves together the roots of her traditional background and training with her present day practices of meditation and voice to create a welcoming space for brave heart opening. Using short Hebrew phrases for chanting, Chassidic inspired teachings and reflection in stillness, this practice celebrates the specific and allows it to become wholly universal.
All are welcome. No previous experience with Hebrew or Judaism necessary.
Shambhala is a community open to everyone. Although the meditation and practices we teach at the Shambhala Centre are rooted in Tibetan Buddhist lineages, we welcome teachers from other traditions.

Here’s what a recent participant at Aviva’s practice said:
Her service had so much heart and resonated strongly with me. She spoke of “a wellspring of love” which lay under our confusion, and from which everything arises.
