Dön Season Intensive

February 5th—February 14th

Date details +

The Shambhala Meditation Centre of Toronto will host a 10 day practice intensive from February 5 to 14.

This period covers the last 10 days of the lunar year -- a time when accumulated negative karma tends to ripen and lack of awareness can impair our sacred outlook. During this time, the Shambhala community comes together in reciting the mamo chants to rouse our confidence and dignity in order to pacify potential upheavals in ourselves and others. It is a time when we simplify our life, get rid of clutter and practice.

This period of practice gathers our energy and prepares the community for the celebrations of the new lunar year of the Earth Dog that commences on February 16.

The Shambhala Meditation Centre of Toronto will host a ten-day practice intensive from February 5 to 15. Please join us if you have established a regular meditation practice. A brief talk and instructions will be provided before each practice session.

For additional information about Dön season, visit the Shambhala Times for articles by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and others.

There will be a public talk at 8:15pm on Tuesday January 30 on the topic of mamos and the protector principle: Who Are the Mamos and the Question of Reality
