Timekeeper Training

    The timekeeper (or Umdze) leads group meditation sessions, including our regular Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and Thursday morning sessions.

    This class will train practitioners in fulfilling this vital role, including:

    • role of the timekeeper in supporting group practice
    • relating to the shrine
    • shrine room decorum, including opening and closing the shrine
    • practices such as ringing the gong and leading the closing chant
    • being part of the Open House team


    Everyone interested in timekeeper training will ideally have completed two (2) Shambhala training weekends OR  two (2) In Everyday Life (IELs) courses AND have a strong personal meditation practice in the Shambhala tradition.  OR  a recommendation from their Meditation Instructor.
