Everything is a symbol of itself.

- Chogyam Trungpa

This workshop introduces a direct way of seeing and taking photographs before there are interpretive frames and filters. This approach opens the creative matrix of the "visual as the visual." Connecting with this creative matrix one makes abstract photo art.

Modern American "abstract" artists worked with the visual as the visual. We will explore some of their work. As a practice you will see what they see. You will be a photo modern artist.

Prerequisite: For this workshop, you must have received the introductory Looking and Seeing teachings. This can be done through weekend workshops, courses, or on-line.

This season the Toronto Shambhala Centre is offering Contemplative Photography: Looking and Seeing, March 30/31.
