The Heart of Buddhist Practice –Foundations of Buddhism (In-person)
with Victoria Hagens & Jil Amadio
“No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” ― Gautama Buddha
"If you want to be miserable, think of yourself. If you want to be happy, think of others.” ― Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
Join students of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Jil Amadio and Victoria Hagens, for a monthly Foundations of Buddhism practice and study session, where we will explore the foundational practices of Refuge Practice and the Four Reminders. This class offers an opportunity to connect with the essence of the Buddha's teachings.
In Refuge Practice, we align ourselves with the Buddha, the dharma, and the sangha, declaring our path toward enlightenment.
In practicing the Four Reminders, we align ourselves with the truths of impermanence and interconnectedness, cultivating compassion and urgency on the path to awakening.
Following practice, we will explore these foundational teachings, in group discussion.
Class Schedule:
- October 27th | 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
- November 24th | 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
- December 15th | 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
- All are warmly invited to join for the Four Reminders practice and discussion (10am - noon). Those who have received the Refuge Practice composed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche are invited to stay for an additional practice session 12-12:30pm).
