The film “Crazy Wisdom: The Life and Times of Chögyam Trungpa” explores the life and teachings of Chögyam Trungpa . Chögyam Trungpa was a Tibetan Buddhist meditation master and holder of both the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism.

He was the 11th of the Trungpa tülkus, a tertön, supreme abbot of the Surmang monasteries, scholar, teacher, poet, artist, and originator of a re-presentation of Tibetan Buddhist teachings and the tradition of Shambhala, as an enlightened society that was later called Shambhala Buddhism.

In 1972, students of Chögyam Trungpa, including present member Joe Lukezich, founded Toronto Dharmadhatu, later renamed the Shambhala Meditation Centre of Toronto.

This fundraising presentation will include a question and answer period with students of Chögyam Trungpa who continue as members of the Toronto Shambhala Centre.
